MENDO presents Avant Arte: New Renaissance,

a MENDO design and publication, limited to 999 copies worldwide.

 

With unprecedented access to the new wave of international artists, New Renaissance opens up the curtains covering the hidden scenes behind museums and Instagram algorithms. Highlighting 15 international artists in their studios, this book offers an insight into the new direction of the international art world. Curated by online art platform Avant Arte, this limited edition photobook takes the viewer across the world into the most intimate and creative spaces inhabited by artists such as Thenjiwe Niki Nkosi, Daniel Arsham, Cai Guo-Qiang and Drift.  

 

Showing the artists 
in the environments where they are both at their most powerful and vulnerable, New Renaissance is a voluminous glimpse into the workspace of art’s new stars In 368 pages, the 15 studio visits are accompanied by conversations between Avant Arte and three influential people who have earned their stripes internationally in various fields. Reflecting on both the past and present, as well as the future of art and its industry, Avant Arte goes in-depth in conversations with Diane von Fürstenberg, Hans Ulrich Obrist and Jefferson Hack, respectively. The studio visits and conversations are also by a foreword written by Avant Arte’s Christian Luiten, reflecting on the current state of the industry.
